Travelling around Mallorca by boat
Swap your Mallorca property for sea air for a day and experience the island from a different perspective. Numerous charter companies offer yachts and sailboats for hire; crew included. In some ports on Mallorca you can also rent smaller boats that can be steered without a boating licence. And a day with excursion boats is also fun for the whole family.
We present some beautiful anchorages along the 550 kilometres of coastline.
Formentor
The northernmost point of Mallorca
Formentor is the northernmost point of the island and can be reached by boat as well as by a breathtaking drive. From Pollensa and Alcudia, excursion boats sail along the spectacular coastline to Formentor, including a swim stop. You will pass the Alcanada lighthouse, numerous bays and cliffs. With your own boat, we recommend a stop in front of the dreamlike beach of Formentor.
Cabrera Island
The Unknown Beauty
The archipelago of Cabrera, located south of Mallorca, is a nature reserve where anchoring is only allowed with a permit. The trip is worth it because of the crystal-clear water and untouched land.
Excursion boats leave from Colonia Sant Jordi and head for the main island with its small bar, beaches and hiking trails.
Our tip: the blue grotto. Excursion boats usually call at it on the way home. The deep blue water in the grotto, which easily fits a boat, is breathtaking.
Dragonera
The Sleeping Dragon
The sophisticated Puerto de Andratx with its luxurious properties is the starting point for a yacht trip to the island of Dragonera, a nature reserve off the coast of the charming fishing village of Sant Elm. From here, a small shuttle boat runs several times a day in summer to the island, which resembles a sleeping dragon.
Dragonera offers several hiking trails and crystal-clear water - ideal for snorkelling.
Our tip: The numerous lizards are almost tame and can be fed.
Portals Vells
The Bay of the Magician
It has many names and yet this one fits best: The Three Fingers Bay. These three turquoise bays near Sol de Mallorca attract numerous boat owners. Swim in the shallow water, marvel at imposing villas on the cliff and eat in the beach restaurant - that's all you need for a perfect day at sea.
Our tip: The neighbouring bay of Cala Falco is often less crowded and also offers a nice bar directly on the beach.
The Bay of Palma
The classic
Whether you own a property in Son Vida, Portals or Santa Ponsa, you can always reach one of the luxurious marinas quickly and start your boat trip from here. The bay of Palma is a popular and varied destination. It is the special perspective on Palma de Mallorca with its striking cathedral and the church towers of the old town that makes a trip east worthwhile. A popular anchorage is Cala Blava, where you can enjoy wonderful snorkelling and swimming in the crystal clear waters.
Our tip: In Palma de Mallorca you can also exclusively rent an excursion catamaran for parties or larger family gatherings.
